What I'm Eating Wednesday - Gluten Free Style - Giveaway Winner!

Goooood Morning!

Our Tiffany's Necklace Giveaway ended late last night and this morning, this happened:

So a big Congratulations to Allie from Tales Of A Twenty Something!

Also....it's my Blog BFF's Birthday!! AKA Jen at That's What She Read
We won't say how old she is, but go stop over there today to wish her a Happy Birthday!
She's the best best friend ever.
Even if I've technically never "met" her ;)
Such is the blog life.

On to our regularly scheduled programming:
Gluten Free Breakfast Foods!

Here's a secret: I actually don't like breakfast, or at least beofre 10-11am.
It's a weird little quirk I have.
However, I do make this oatmeal at my lunchtime, so that totally counts right?
And I do drag the wafflemaker out on Saturdays and Sundays ;)

So I was actually really skeptical of this Instant Oatmeal, for a few reasons, but nothing gluten free tastes good "Instant" at least, until this. The little cranberries are delish and the package already comes with brown sugar in it! So handy!

So we got a waffle maker as a wedding present. And I like waffles. I don't like pancakes, but I like waffles. I realize they are practically the same thing. Just don't ask, ok?

This is the best gluten free waffle mix.
And, I've tried no less than 4.
This one is a decent price, like $4.00? The only downside is that is it a small package at only one pound.
It also have the easiest recipe, you just need to add water.
I got one this one time that needed vanilla, egg, water, and some kitchen magic. No thank you, says Bedhead Sunday Morning Mallory.

I'll also point out that bacon is usually also gluten free, and eggs are definitely gluten free.
And fruit.
I also buy Chex Cereals because they taste really good, are gluten free, and are priced like normal non gluten free foods! So yes, you will find me eating on the couch at 8pm on a Thursday with a bowl of Chex cereal with Vanilla Rice Milk.
I may or may not still be 8 years old.

Have you tried either of these products?
What's your Favorite Cereal?
I really miss Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

  2. I enjoyed the g free bisquick for pancakes/waffles. But then had to really make homemade considering I'm not suppose to eat sugar lol that sucks now.
Chex really is amazing. Did you try their apple cinnamon? I love vans waffles and cinnamon French toast sticks. Super yummy. I do miss apple jacks or cinnamon toast crunch cereals :-)

  5. I'm scouring your blog for gluten free ideas, hence the way late comment. But I'm so glad you wrote about that pancake mix. I've been using gluten free bisquick which is really good but they don't sell it everywhere so I usually have to make a special trip. I e wondered about using that brand and am glad to hear it tastes okay! Also, I LIVE off that chex mix cereal. Soooo gooooood.
