I may or may not have changed my blog layout again.
And I'm not going to say it will stay the same.
'Cause that's
Do you like it? I like it. The colors are soothing.
I also...
Don't mind this awful lighting and my only semi-made bed. You're lucky I kicked the Bull Terrier off her "nest" before I snapped these.
I wanted something on this wall, but I also wanted it to be relatively cheap and easy. I keep thinking we'll only have about another year in this apartment so I am done with investing in home decor for this apartment.
So I threw this up on the wall, then stared at it for a week debating between staining these, spray painting them bright colors, covering them in fabric(they are embroidery hoops, if you can't tell from that stupendous picture ;) )
So finally last night I:
Sorry these are miniature, I totally blame that on uploading them on my Mac. Damn thing is confusing to operate.
Right, so I finally selected two fabrics and voila!
I was worried it was a bit too girly, but it actually balances very well.
Husband seems ok with it too.
And my final project yesterday(I was very busy in a non-busy way)
I really want to "document" this spring. So I'm going to try to take a picture every day-ish of this tree in front of our house as it get's its leaves!
We'll see how this goes, my follow through on this sort of thing is umm...awful?
Big happenings in Kansas on Monday nights guys, big.
And now, for the best part of this Tuesday, is that I'd like for y'all to meet Rebecca!
So as a blogger(or blog reader) there are some blogs that we read because the blogger is hilarious, or they have adorable children, great home decor skills, share easy & delicious recipes, or, my personal favorite, because the blogger is a wonderful writer.
Rebecca is a wonderful writer.
Like, heart stopping wonderful. She writes in a way I can only hope to write. I think if I write my blog posts right after reading her posts, some of her writing skills might rub off on me.
Yes she's that good.
Hi y'all! :) I hope that you are having a great day! It is such a delight to be visiting Mallory over here from Caravan Sonnet! I enjoy reading Mallory's posts each day and she is one of the sweetest bloggers I have met! She started "following" my blog when I had like two followers and writes the sweetest comments to this day. She is a huge encouragement! I started writing my blog, Caravan Sonnet because I was looking for a way to keep friends and family up to date on life but was also looking for a way to improve my writing! I dream of being a published author and blogging for me had been a great way to write, connect with others, and grow in my writing skills. Hahaha I was a high school teacher for seven years and some of my former students have told me that I had to blog because I wasn't able to use all of my words up teaching in the classroom this year as I am taking a couple of years out to pursue my graduate degree. Apparently they thought that I have a lot to say *smiles*
In saying that I would say that my fulltime job this year is my graduate work and working on freelance writing opportunities. I miss teaching tremendously and so I write about it often on my blog but I love having this opportunity to focus on school this year! Besides writing I love hanging out with my friends and family, ballroom dancing (honestly I love all dancing!), hanging out on the water and in the outdoors, creating things, and just living life to the fullest each day. In addition to talking about life on my blog I also write about living in the sweet south and the lovely upstate New York.
These past few years have been some of the toughest but has carried with it some of the most beautiful days of my life. I have walked through some of the deepest days of grief and also been blessed by many tender days of mercy. Ironically one of the things that was the most difficult (my ex fiance ending our relationship shortly before our wedding) turned out to be the biggest blessings of my life! Life is so precious like that and I am so so blessed by amazing people who have loved me each day!
One of the greatest parts about blogging is having the opportunity to connect with other blogers! It is one of the sweetest and most encouraging communities! An example of this would be joining the "Bigs & Littles Network" that Mallory helped to create. I was paired with the MOST awesome "Big" who has helped me answer a TON of blogging questions! I definitely recommend joining it! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this! I would love to connect with y'all so please stop on by Caravan Sonnet :) I look forward to meetin y'all!

Love your new bedroom wall art work, and love the new blog layout too. Am so looking forward to seeing that tree change - I did something like that the other year and you may well have inspired me to do so again this year :)
ReplyDeleteAm looking forward to checking out Rebecca's blog - great writing is the BEST recommendation :)
I love that idea of taking a picture of the tree every few days to document change! Our first year in this house I was big on taking a picture each season, but I've since kind of forgotten about it - I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get a picture of the whole house/yard with the biggest snowfall we've had since the 60s. Grrr. Anyway, love the idea!
ReplyDeleteAlso love the decor above your bed - I love projects that are fairly inexpensive and easy, but look awesome! Aaand I love your new design! I'm just full of love today, ha. :)
fun new layout and the art above your bed looks great with the fabric. love the idea of taking a photo a day of the tree. going to check out your sponsor now :)

Love the embriodry circles on the wall! I want to do this over my baby's crib (if its a girl...it seems a little girly. Not sure about if its a boy yet...)
ReplyDeleteI love the embroidery hoops on the wall! I saw a picture of that somewhere (probably on Pinterest) and thought it was so adorable. It's just the right touch of girliness!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the tree to get leaves! It looks kinda sad! The new bedroom decor is great! I enjoyed Rebecca's blog too. Keep up the great work!! :)
