I've been meaning to share with y'all the make-up I use on a daily basis for ages, ever since I shared my "Curly Hair Essentials" list forever-and-a-day ago!
So, let's start from the top, shall we?
*I use brushes to apply all my make-up, except for my foundation which I use my fingers to apply.
-Eyeshadow palette by Stila, from Sephora. I have 2 of these palettes and I love them. They aren't powdery, so it doesn't leave extra powder on my cheeks(I hate hate hate that!)
-Baby Lips. It's delicious and soooo moisturizing. Enough said, yes?
-Maybelline Face Powder. I use it to set my make-up after applying foundation, after trying a dozen or more powders, this seems to last 10-12 hours without seriously needing a touch-up!
-Dream Bouncy Blush. I've always been a powder blush girl, but this stuff has such great pigmentation! I love that it doesn't fade or absorb into my skin during the day, because it still looks great after a full day at work!
-Whisper Lipstick. This is not your mama's lipstick. I almost want to call it a lip balm or stain, but it really is a lipstick. It just feels moisturizing! I have Rose of Attraction, which is pretty close to my natural lip color, and Pin Up Peach, which I loooove. It's very pretty and goes great with a simple make-up face day!
-Estee Lauder Eye Liner. I am an eye-liner girl 120%. I need it. I need it like I need mascara. And foundation. Anyways, get this stuff. It's amazing. It doesn't move. No smudges, no fading, amaaaazing colors. I have black, purple(don't knock it tip you try it!) and a sapphire blue! All of which I love. If you'd like a cheaper option, try Elf's black eyeliner sold at Target. I know, I know. It's like $1 BUT it's honestly the closest I have ever found to the Estee Lauder liner. And I've tried a lot of eye-liners! It is smudge proof, doesn't move, lasts all day, the only downs is that it seems to "go" a lot faster? I can run through an Elf liner in about 6-8 weeks but an Estee Lauder one will last 4-6 months.
-Loreal Mascara. I prefer the blackest black color, but I also have brown. The water proof is seriously waterproof, the coverage can't be beat. It's very layer able if you like extra oomph in your eyelashes, and I think that it really does make my lashes longer! It's fab.
-Revlon Colorstay. So my mom got me into Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation aeons ago. She and I both like full coverage make-up because while we both have smooth skin, the coloration of our skin is weird. I have basically a pale circle around my face, dark under eye circles, and my nose and cheeks are reddish. I am very uncomfortable with people seeing me without make-up because I just So even though I really like EL Double Wear, there are two things working against it:
1. I use it every day and it runs out in about six weeks.
2. I was having an issue with it melting off in the high humidity in Kansas. No bueno!
So rather than testing all the expensive department store foundations, I tested about four drugstore brands, until I finally found Revlon's Colorstay. This stuff is the bomb.com. It doesn't melt in summer, it doesn't dry me out in winter! I get the oily/combination skin bottle(they also have normal, but that one melts on me, even though I don't have oily skin).
I also really like Revlon's PhotoReady line, for both foundation and powder! Both products give a fantastic matte finish, which is my goal every day for my make-up!
I think that about covers my daily essentials!
If you have questions, feel free to leave them, I'll answer in the comments!
This is my new thing, I'm going to try to reply to comments in the blog instead of via email, because well...I am not to good about replying via email every day! ;)
